The Short Version

Use Smallest.zip fairly, pay for what you use, and don't abuse the service. We will never sell your data, train AI on it, or use it without your permission.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Smallest.zip (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Smallest.zip provides file compression services including images, video, text, and PDF files via a web interface and API. Compression is performed using our encoding infrastructure and results are returned to you.

3. Your Data

We take your data seriously. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your files are processed solely for the purpose of compression and returned to you.
  • We will never sell your data, files, or usage information to any third party.
  • We will never use your files to train AI models, machine learning systems, or any automated systems beyond what is required to perform the compression service.
  • We will never access, inspect, or use your data for any purpose other than providing the Service, unless required by law or explicitly requested by you for support.
  • You retain full ownership of all files you upload. Uploading a file does not transfer any intellectual property rights to Smallest.zip.

4. Account Responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API key secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must not share your API key publicly or allow unauthorized use.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload files containing malware, illegal content, or content that infringes on third-party rights.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or compromise the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Abuse the API in ways that degrade service quality for other users (e.g., automated bulk requests beyond your plan limits).
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission.

6. Credits and Billing

  • Credits are consumed per successful compression operation.
  • Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Unused credits may be refunded per our Refund Policy.
  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing with reasonable notice.

7. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, or events outside our control may cause temporary downtime. We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smallest.zip is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 30 days prior to the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.
