• Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Usage data — basic request logs (timestamps, file sizes, compression ratios) to track your credit usage and provide your dashboard.

We do not collect analytics, tracking cookies, browsing behavior, or any other telemetry.

Your Files

Files you upload for compression are processed and returned to you. We treat your files with the following guarantees:

• Your files are never used for training machine learning models or any other purpose.
• Your files are never shared with any third party.
• Your files are never sold to anyone, for any reason.
• Your files are never analyzed, inspected, or accessed by Smallest.zip staff unless required to resolve a support request you initiate.
• Compressed files stored for download are encrypted at rest and automatically deleted within 7 days.

Data Sale

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your files. We do not sell your usage data. We will never sell any data associated with your account, under any circumstances.

Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• Compressed files are automatically deleted within 7 days of creation.
• Request logs (file sizes, timestamps) are retained for your dashboard history.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

Security

All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS). Files stored on our servers are encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text.

Self-Hosted Option

For organizations with strict data requirements, we offer container images that run entirely within your own infrastructure. With this option, your data never leaves your network and Smallest.zip has zero access to it. See our Solutions page for details.
